It is no secret that when men disagree, they tossle for a second and move on like nothing happened. It is also no secret that when women disagree/get offended/get triggered/disagree we go to a level of vicious cruelty that most “R” rate movies wouldn’t tackle. In reference to previous blogs, our opinion is that is comes from a place of insecurity. When did we start believing that we couldn’t disagree and still be unified as people trying to live their truth!
From a medical perspective, nobody knows where to go for useful, non-judged information! We are big advocates of research and making decisions with both sides of the coin. My parents and women at the office know themselves better than I do. Nobody wants to feel like the lone ranger so why don’t we come from a place of sameness rather than division. Health foods, supplements, whether they should get their kids adjusted, what to do with a fever, how much activity is too much activity for their growing children… it is a never ending list… There is no right answer.. The right answer for you is trusting your process! Any doctor, friend, relative who doesn’t fall into the realm of helping you grow into being more you is not inner circle worthy. You can honor them and their choices, but we women should be supporting women, period! Let’s be real… You don’t really care what other people do? What you do care about is how people see you and if you can make the right decisions for you and your family. Everyone wants to be accepted but we will caution you to put your trust in your confidence and not in the support of others.
As a practitioner, I must give people permission all the time to make the next right step for them. I struggle sometimes with the next right step. I am human too. I want to go all in, all the time. Green smoothies, 5 days at the gym, detox vacations, enough water, low stress… the list goes on. However, many days I extend myself soooooo much grace when I practice gratitude that I remembered my supplements, I could have done better with my water intake and I managed to start a load of laundry. Once my self-talk changed, it no longer became about more, it became about awareness. My patients who are more aware of themselves report being better able to discern what they need at a given time once we start them under care. I want to be more self-aware! From an outside perspective a walk and going to the gym both seem like great ideas; however self-awareness will allow you to harness those tools at different times for different reasons. With self-awareness though comes the opportunity to always extend more grace to others! Circumstances don’t dictate direction, and neither should an opinion of others! The world of possibilities opens up when we embrace difference and focus on self-awareness. I open the door of possibilities for patients and let them embrace the direction that feels right to them. Don’t get stuck in tunnel vision with your life and your perspective😊 Trust the unknown, dig your heels into discomfort and just start to follow what you intuitively are drawn too! Wellness comes from balance, but it also comes from not obsessing about it.
